Decades ago, Thankakanam Estate was a sprawling high-altitude tea and spice plantation. As time passed, nature gently reclaimed its domain. Moss coated the stone pathways, wild orchids bloomed along ancient tree trunks, and misty rain refreshed the untouched soil.
Rather than clearing the land for modern commercial resort buildings, the vision for Vagamon Heights was singular: preserve every inch of its original wild ecosystem, leaving 100 acres of virgin forest entirely untouched for another hundred years.
The old estate character was kept intact, every mossy wall and every creeping vine, while the open spaces were quietly reimagined as a destination for those who still know how to slow down.

A high-altitude tea and spice plantation, reclaimed by the forest and left that way on purpose.
“The native flora, the exotic fauna, the hush of a forest that has never been cleared. It is all still here.”
